Yes. We offer Contents Accidental Loss or Damage and Buildings Accidental Damage cover. They are optional covers that you can choose to include with your policy.

Yes, cover up to $1000 for burnout of electric motors that form part of your buildings and contents is included in your policy.

We will cover your home buildings and contents for loss or damage caused by flood. 

Flood means the covering of normally dry land by water that has escaped or been released from the normal confines of a lake, river, creek, reservoir, canal, dam or other watercourse.

Yes. You have the option to include Contents Accidental Loss or Damage cover which covers your contents anywhere you take them. T&C’s and limits apply; full details are available in the PDS.

Home buildings are the private domestic residence and other buildings at the premises, including permanently attached fixtures, fittings and structural improvements, but excluding earthworks.

Home contents are the removable property and items you are legally responsible for, which are kept inside your home or other secure buildings on the property, including fitted carpets, curtains and blinds.

We cover the reasonable cost of emergency repairs needed to make your home buildings safe and secure following an insured event.

You nominate the total sums insured for your buildings and contents which are then covered on a new-for-old basis.

The amount you select will be shown on your schedule. 

You can choose to add optional cover for accidental injury for your pets.

If we choose a repairer and authorise repairs, we guarantee the quality of those repairs for as long as you are the owner of the insured property.

We cover the reasonable cost of temporary accommodation for up to 12 months if you cannot live at the premises after an insured event. 

We also provide some cover for accommodation if there is an enforced emergency evacuation.

All our written correspondence with you will be by email including claims and policy documents.

We automatically provide you with these documents:

• Product Disclosure Statement (PDS)
• Policy Schedule
• Tax Invoice

Amended documents will be sent you when you update or renew your policy.

You can securely view and make certain changes to your policy at any time on our website by clicking ‘Login’

By taking out insurance with us you agree to pay your premium on the date/s shown on your policy schedule.

You can choose to pay your premium annually or by monthly instalments.  We accept direct debits from a bank account, Visa or MasterCard.

Our policies normally renew automatically, however if you prefer you can call us to opt out of automatic renewal. We will send your renewal offer to you about four weeks before your current policy ends and continue to debit the premium on the renewed policy using your payment details unless you have opted out of automatic renewal. If you have opted out of automatic renewal you will need to contact us to accept your renewal offer.

If you wish to make changes at renewal (or at any other time during the period of insurance) please call 13 YOUI (9684).  

When you make a claim you will be required to pay an excess.  The following excesses may apply to your claim and will be shown on your policy schedule:

Basic Excess 
This is the first amount payable by you on any claim

Additional Excess 
In some circumstances an additional excess may apply to your claim. 

One Excess 
If you have more than one Youi policy and you lodge a claim for damage that occurs at the same place arising from the same single event, only one excess will be payable. 

We will settle your claim by either:

• paying for the reasonable cost of repairs; 
• paying to you an amount equal to the reasonable cost of repairs; 
• paying to you the value of your insured property; or
• replacing your insured property.
